Sherman & Howard’s Labor and Employment Law Department attorneys represent management in all matters and disputes involving labor and employment law and advise clients on all phases of the employment relationship. I first joined Sherman & Howard as a summer associate in June 2002. I returned to the firm full time in September 2003 and have spent my career at the firm representing management clients in all facets of the employment relationship. I advise clients on a daily basis on employee relations and workplace policies, as well as application, hiring, and termination processes. I have successfully represented clients before administrative agencies and in federal and state court on issues involving race, sex, national origin, pregnancy, age, and disability discrimination and harassment; ADA failure to accommodate; retaliation; wrongful discharge; independent contractor misclassification; Family and Medical Leave Act interference and retaliation. I also have extensive experience in federal and state wage and hour issues, including collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. I have testified on behalf of the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry on employment-related legislation pending in the Colorado General Assembly. In 2013, I was named Law Week Colorado’s Barrister’s Best in Show: Best Employment Lawyer, defense.
