Christopher Richter, a partner in the firm since 2004, is considered a “litigation star” by Benchmark Canada in the fields of commercial litigation, class actions, securities litigation and arbitration. Chambers Global also mentions his experience in domestic and international disputes and in the areas of professional liability and employment law. Christopher has been practicing in the fields of civil, corporate and commercial litigation since 1996, including product liability cases. As a member of both the Quebec and Ontario Bars, he has appeared before the Quebec courts of first instance and of appeal, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as numerous administrative tribunals and arbitration panels. He has an interest and significant expertise in matters of private international law. He taught civil procedure at both McGill University and the University of Montreal. Active for many years in the Canadian Bar Association, Christopher was Quebec branch chair of the International Law Section and chair of the Business Dispute Resolution Committee of the National ILS. He is also active in the Litigation Committee of the International Bar Association. Other memberships include The London Court of International Arbitration, The University Club Of Montreal and The Club Sportif MAA.
